STOP FRACKING IN AUSTRALIA

In Australia, we are forced to vote for candidates that we don't want to vote for as voting is mandatory, this is bad enough and just shows democracy is Australia is a myth.

We now allow, by law,  multinational syndicates to set up CSG wells on private land, by law, such private land owners are not allowed to say no to these syndicates in NSW and Tasmania Australia.

The word syndicate is quite appropriate here as one of the meaning of syndicate refers to a loose affiliation of gangsters in charge of organized criminal activities. It's utterly criminal that multinationals are allowed to do as they like on your own private property. It's also utterly criminal that any government is allowed to pass such laws that are criminally intent, it's criminal intent in that such laws take away even more of our freedom in Australia.

We might think we are safe from such criminal intent in our cities and towns, you would be incorrect in assuming this. For one, once our food source has been contaminated in Australia by fracking, healthy living is going to be virtually impossible, are health fanatics going to be able to then rely on uncontaminated food from China? Good luck with this.

Eating healthy in my mind comes a close second to our rights and freedom, no one will be safe from what these multinational syndicates would be able to do in Australia. Everyone, no matter where you live, would have their freedom and rights stripped away from them by laws intent on criminal activity.

Extract: The laws were passed by Tasmania's Lower House in late June and are now before the independent-dominated Upper House.
If approved, the changes would result in on-the-spot fines and mandatory jail sentences for people who disrupt workplaces, as well as increased policing powers.

Extract: NSW laws governing mining company access to private land are "outrageously skewed against landowners", "grossly inadequate" and "unjust", and politicians are largely unaware of their devastating financial and emotional impact on individuals, say two former senior judges.

Harmful effects of fracking

Extract:

·                    Contamination of groundwater
·                    Methane pollution and its impact on climate change
·                    Air pollution impacts
·                    Exposure to toxic chemicals
·                    Blowouts due to gas explosion
·                    Waste disposal
·                    Large volume water use in water-deficient regions
·                    Fracking-induced earthquakes
·                    Workplace safety
·                    Infrastructure degradation

Extract: The sector's growth is spurred by the use of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, in which often-dangerous chemicals are mixed with large quantities of water (or other base fluid) and sand and injected into wells at extremely high pressure. Unconventional development using advanced fracking methods poses threats to water, air, land, and the health of communities.

Extract: “Gas bubbling up through a 5km stretch of the Condamine River is the worst case recorded so far of what appears to be pollution related to fracking for coal seam gas,” said Greens MP Jeremy Buckingham.
